Many people believe they want to be successful. Success can mean many different things to different people. Here are some different possible areas of "success": health, money, work/job, prestige, friends, family, education, spirituality or religion, volunteering / helping others, etc. Another way to look at this is to say that success is having, being, knowing, feeling, or doing something (?).
What does "success" mean to you? Why? Explain. (Don't use a dictionary; use your own ideas.)
How do you know if you are successful or not? Give examples. Explain clearly.
What do you do if you "fail" or don't succeed at something? Explain. Use an example.
What do you think "success" will mean to you in the future (10, 20, 30 or 40 years from now)? Do you think your ideas will change or stay the same as they are now? Explain.

To me success means graduating from the University of Montana with a degree in business. This will make me successful when I return to my country and start my own business. It will help my business do very well because I can talk to other people from other countries about my business. I know know I am successful when I do what I planned on doing. I work very hard to do this and when I am finished to me I am successful. If I fail at something, I learn what I do wrong and I try again and do it different. I do not think that success will mean the same thing for me in the future because I will want to do different things and I will have my degree.

As far as I'm concerned,on one hand,as a student,the success means that I did a good job in a period of time. For example, I finished good all of my homework in a month, I got a high grade in the class, I passed a significant exam, I went to a very good university with good study environment and educational system, and so on.
On the other hand, in the life, I respect all of my elder, I deal with my friendship very well, and I keep a happy mood every day that means I got a success.
Furthermore,I study hard every day,then,I went to the best high school in our city. After that, I think I had a success. This is that how do I know I make a success.
If I fail,I will ask for myself something is that what's the problem for you in this job? And you should cheer up, make a nice job next time.
Finally,I think that my means of success will be changed in the future. Because, I will become a mature person in the future. I'm not a student, I must have a nice job with enough payment and significant, I must create my own family, and I must take care of my parents and little brother. So,I must have a plan that is stronger than now.

In my opinion the definition of success is life plain and simple.I think life is plain and simple will make me have a quiet heart in the life and is good for my health and spiritual .
So if the means of success is life plain and simple it will easy to know I'm success or not .Because if I'm rude or not polite to someone and do something no patient is also explain my life is not plain and simple . For example ,when I first came to the University of Montana ,I have lots of things to do ,like paied the tuition ,bought some books ,or new student register etc.I was very impatiencce about doing everything ,but when I thought deeply,I think I should to put down the steps and thought what was the most important thing I should do the first ,second ,last.According to this way ,I finised those things with a high efficiency.
In the future,I think my success will not to be change ,because I think this lifestyle is my favorite and I will insist forever.

ReplyDeleteThis topic about success has followed me for a long time. Many friends ever asked me this matter"what is success" I can not say it is correct about my definition of success. But for me, It is greet. I think the biggest success is become a person. Maybe for most of people that sounds strang, for me, it is grave. Person's Chinese style of writing is 人. Old people alway say person is easy to write but hard to do. For example, how to treat your parents, how to get along with your friends, and how to treat your teachers. In fact, everyone has different viewpoint. I make my own goal,and I am approaching my success. Probably I am not successful even I have died.But I am perfecting myself all the time.
I am not successful because sometimes I quarrel with my parents, I lost my temper, or I cheat other. For instence, when my mother criticize me, I will wrangle with my mother. After wrangling, I think I am so impious. I world reflect on myself. Even though my mother is wrong. I still make an apology.
This belief never been changed, and I will try my best to get success.
In my opinion, success means that achieving goal I make myself.
ReplyDeleteI have many goals of varying size. These are examples that my big goal is coming to be able to speak English fluently, and my small goal is getting good grade in my class. We made three goals in Study Skill class. If you achieve your goal, it means successful.
How difficult to know if you are successful or not depends on a goal. If your goal has a clear criterion like grade, you can know easier. On the other hand, too general goal like my first goal is more difficult to know.
If I do not succeed my goal, I try again and again until I success. However sometimes I cannot try again for example last semester’s grade. In this case, I make another goal, and try to achieve new goal.
Successes make me be confident in myself. Therefore, in a future I will be more confident after many successful.

Success
I’d like to talk about my success and my opinion to be successful if I get high scores. For example, my parents and friends encourage me to study and graduate from university because they want me to be a doctor same as I want. I always study hard in school so I know I’ll get a high grade and I’ll be successful. If I failed at something, I’ll try so hard to do that again to solve my mistakes. In the future, I think my success will be different and it also depends what I’ll have to do. For example, I may have to do easys things, so that would not let me fail and I hope so.

Success
What does "success" mean to me? I think that a good quality of life that are success for me. I want have a good quality of life, so I have to get a good job and work hard. I have to pay attention on everything because I never know what happen on next time. If I want to have a good quality of life then I have to work hard. But not only work hard but also I must get a good job. How can I find a good job? Continue to study is the easy and fast way. In short, I want to have a good quality life is my goal, so I need to do more and more thing and pay attention to everything. That can assure if something happen on next time, and I can solve faster. This is my opinion for success.
ReplyDeleteFrom the topic, I think there are lots of definitions of success, such as you got a lot of money, you achieve your dream, and you get your goal. In my view, I think success is that I make some good friends and I have a happiness family. In fact, when I met troubles, I was always chatting with my friends. They were listening patiently , they would give me some advice. At this time, I know I am success and lucky because I could share happiness and sorrow with my friend and I were not alone. As my family, I think I were success because my parents give all the love for me. They were always working hard because they want to let me feel happy every day.
I think these are success. So, I were not fail. I am so lucky. Friends and family are all my success.

ReplyDeleteThis topic was difficult for me, so I was thinking about it for a long time. While I don’t know that it is correct answer, I got an answer which friend and family is success for me. This is why I think success is happiness. I’m always happy when I’m with my friend and family. Moreover, I think smile is the expression of one’s happiness, so when people are with a smile, they are happy, and succeed. When I’m with my friend and family, I’m always with a smile automatically. Therefore I already succeed.
If I fail something, they get me to be happy because when I’m discouraged, they are worried about me like themselves, and cheer up me. How happy it is. Thanks to them, I can try again
In the future, fundamental meaning of success will stay, but a little meaning will change. This is why when I have my family, I will be happy when my family are happy like my mother. Moreover I can hold out everything for my family. People don’t notice that, but it is happiness and success.

When I was 20-25 for me to be successful was to have a lot of money and to have expensive car, but after thirty I saw many people hwo have earned a lot of money, but I have seen happiness in their eyes. I have lived 38 years in Kazakhstan and I saw a lot of good and bad things from people, now I am living in U.S.A., and I have time to analize all of the mistakes that I did in my life. Based on my experience, I want to help their children to avoid repeating my mistakes. Based on the above, I concluded that to be succesful in this dificult life the human must to live so as not to be excruciatingly paintful for the wasted years.

Now I am successful, because my life filled with happiness. I have many good friends, best family and learning a foreign language in USA and so on. These are important things, and make me happy. I like nothing more than my life! I think my life is successful forever, because if I have a good friends and best family forever, they make me happy. May be I don’t lost my friend, so I should have to value these. These are necessary for my success.

It is impossible to be successful for a person without having a plan to achieve dreams, and that means that planning a basic things for success in any business. Successful man is one who sets the time to plan for success.I do not waste any time to plan for my success to the maximum.I can not tell a custom definition of success because it means a lot to me, which is linked to the person and his abilities.Success for me is success in several areas of life, including family and practical and scientific.When not succeed in something I'm not sad, but I am happy experience for success, and when the most successful I am glad I have achieved what I want.
